Okay, this is the first story of the Nymph's that appears in this set, so. . . . WHY THE HELL DIDN'T ANYONE TELL ME ABOUT HER IN THE FIRST PLACE?!?!?!? I didn't find out about her stories until someone, oh so casually, referenced her work. It's like saying, "Oh by the way, for the final in this class you might want to read the textbook." It's like, "Oh, if you're gonna jump, you might want to tie the bungee cord to your legs first." If you've just joined the SV fandom, there are certain authors you just have to read: Te, The Spike, Jenn, and several others, and Nymph du Pave is one of them. And I can tell you right now, I'm probably going to end up reccing all of her work. But for right now, let's discuss "Control". (Shudder) Sex. Hot. Heavy. Sex. Incredibly hot, heavy sex. And if there's a plot anywhere in this story I missed it because my screen was fogged up. Okay, yeah, go, read. Send her feedback so she'll write more. |

First and foremost, I hate this series. Yes, I hate it. But I'm reccing it anyway because it's incredible. That's the true mark of a talented writer . . . they can write a story that you personally hate, but you MUST agree it is good anyway. So, this series . . . it's dark as hell but in some ways, truly believable. I do believe that this is one of the first stories in the "Clark can be seriously fucked up in the head" types of stories. A true pioneer here, people. But keep in mind, it can seriously disturb gentle readers, so be warned. |

What I love about this story is that Jonathan and Martha realize what's going on between the boys before Clark and Lex do. Does. Whatever. Anyway, I love how Brighid writes. I love how she writes Jon. And Lex. I love how she has them interacting on one level as equals, but also on another level, Lex is very much a child who wants things to go exactly as he plans. But what I love most about this story is Jon. Brighid writes him as I see him: a man who dislikes Luthors, is trying to protect his son, but smart enough to realize what's going on and struggles with himself to accept it. I would dearly love to see a sequel to this story. (Snort) Maybe I'll write one. Wonder if Brighid will let me . . . . |

In all of her other stories, there's always several lines that make me laugh my butt off, but in "Fetish" she just keeps hitting you with them until you've die laughing! What I love about this one is that while the entire story is told from Clark's POV, Andriel is so skillful that her readers can almost feel the emotions running through Lex as well. There is one part in the story when Clark gets his first real kiss from Lex where I just KNEW what Lex was thinking. How the thought that this might be the only time he would ever get to kiss his friend, so he had better make it good. I mean, how many countless times have we read this in other fics? More often than not, it's plainly stated. "Lex took the kiss, knowing it might be the only time . . ." Blah, Blah. But see, Andriel doesn't do that. It's implicit, making it all the more poignant, visceral. Sigh Beautiful. |

This one . . . ooooooooo. Nymph was seriously unhappy with the way "Cool" was written so she rewrote it to her ends. Boy, am I glad she did! In this version, instead of Martha going outside, Lex goes. And really, that just makes more sense. But anyway, Lex goes out and encounters Sean, Mr. Frosty. And Mr. Frosty proceeds to tell Lex that he killed Clark. And Lex's reaction? Well, let's just say it's not pretty. But Clark is. Seriously pretty that is. (drool) Anyway, the story's a romance, it's sweet, and it's got lots of action . . . Lex bashing the hell out of Sean. Way cool. Hehehe. And I guess I should mention one of the primary reasons I love Nymph's work so much is her portrayal of Lex. He's much more emotional. He's more . . . I don't know . . . human? If you've ever desperately wanted someone to love you back, you'll definitely be able to relate to Lex in her stories. |

This one is told entirely from Chloe Sullivan's point of view. Poor thing. She's so in love with Clark but in this story, she learns the hard way, that Clark doesn't feel the same. What I really love about this story is Nymph's portrayal of Chloe. She's . . . real. And she loves Clark enough to be there for him, even though he's in love with someone else. Sigh Makes me want to hit Pete over the head and say, "Come on, already, tell the girl you like her!" |

What I love about this story is how Jenn portrays Lex. And how I think how accurate Jenn is. Lex is a hard character to write but Jenn somehow gets into his head. It's hilarious how Mako portrays Lex in this story and the really scary thing is, I can almost see MR portraying Lex in the same light. And Clark is so sweet in this one. He gets Lex the one thing that Lex couldn't buy for himself. And you know that smile that your friend gets when you get them that perfect present? Yeah, that's the look on Lex's face. So sweet. |

This is the second voyeur fic I've recommended because Jenn does it right. But then again, I don't think I've ever read a fic by her that isn't right. But this one is very different from LaT's "Reveal" because whereas Lionel never gets involved in the scene between his son and Clark, Chloe does. I think Jenn's story is how every reader feels when they're reading an incredibly hot Clex sex scene. You're drawn in, you're turned on, and you leave horny as hell. |
